Founded in 1969, the Gesellschaft has its focus on well known and also rarely played works by the Haydn brothers as well as composers associated with the two.
The Haydn Gesellschaft offers a series of events each season in various, less well-known concert halls: subscription concerts, church concerts or music tours. Their annual “musical tour” is a day bus trip with concerts and art-historical tours in the Vienna area as well as half-day guided “musical walks” in Vienna. The Concilium musicum Wien will play the concerts, conducted by Christoph Angerer.
