The story of the Glasfabrik
If you like second hand furniture or perhaps you are an art collector or you just love flea markets, chances are that you have been to the Glasfabrik. Established in 1996 and located in Ottakring, the Glasfabrik offers its customers everything from large furniture to small items, and things that you did not know you needed until you found them in the Glasfabrik. 3,000 square meters of second-hand articles is a paradise for those who are looking for the right piece of decoration for home or somewhere else. And it is not only what one can buy in the Glasfabrik what makes it special, it is also its industrial look with large halls and high ceilings. The reason for this is that the location was the headquarter of the glass manufacturer Ullwer & Bednar.
But as all good things must come to an end, the Glasfabrik will move out of its legendary location this year. An apartment building is expected to be constructed here. Soon you will find the Glasfabrik in the Felberstraße 3 in the 15th district not far away from the Westbahnhof. But before all this happens, the Glasfabrik has started a huge sale with 50% discount on most items. This started on Tuesday this week and the place was full of new and old customers. You should go and visit the Glasfabrik either to buy something or just to feel the vibe of that old location that soon will be history. Who knows, perhaps you will go home with some item you did not know you needed. We speak from experience! (Cr).
