Looking for a more personal baking experience in a Viennese home? This kosher Apfelstrudel workshop takes place in the inner city and is led by Maschi, a certified Viennese home cook. As a member of Vienna’s Jewish community, she brings together Viennese and Jewish culinary traditions. The workshop takes place in her 19th-century apartment, creating a relaxed and authentic setting.
During the workshop, you’ll prepare both an Apfelstrudel and a Topfenstrudel, with coffee, tea, and small snacks included. At the end, you’ll sit down and enjoy what you’ve made. The workshop is open to everyone, and Maschi creates a welcoming atmosphere throughout. Her kitchen is kosher, and all ingredients used follow kosher standards.

This workshop is a great opportunity to visit an authentic Viennese home and cook in a cosy and friendly environment. While it might not feel as official as our workshops at the bakery or baking studio, this experience has a unique charm while still keeping a similar professionalism standard. Maschi is an experienced host who will know how to make sure you feel comfortable and confident about your baking abilities.
At the end of the workshop, you will get a stay and eat together. You will also receive the recipe to take home, so that you can re-practice your newly acquired Viennese skill.

- Children: Children ages 6 and up may join the workshop, accompanied by an adult. Please note that the price is per participant, no matter they age, as we keep the number of participants small.
- Accessibility: The building where Maschi lives has an elevator and so the workshop is accessible. Please inform us in advance about any needs you may have, to ensure that we can meet them.
- Allergies: We kindly ask you to inform us in advance about any allergies or sensitivities. Furthermore, Maschi has a dog so if you are allergic, please inform us in advance.
Cancellation Policy
- Full refund for cancellations made up to 48 hours in advance.
- No refunds for cancellations within 48 hours.
- We reserve the right to cancel 48h prior if the minimum of 6 participants for public tours isn’t met (full refund issued).
- The workshop takes place as a public experience and requires a minimum number of 4 participants. If the minimum is not reached, you will be informed in advance and offered alternative options.
