Apfelstrudel and Pretzel Baking Workshop near Schönbrunn Palace:
Vienna is known for its traditional recipes, but how often do we actually prepare them ourselves? The Apfelstrudel and Pretzel Baking Workshop near Schönbrunn Palace offers the chance to spend an evening baking two local classics in a stunning studio close to the former summer residence of the Habsburgs.
You will start the workshop by preparing a traditional Viennese Apfelstrudel. Step by step, you will learn how the dough is mixed and kneaded before it is stretched by hand until it becomes thin and elastic. You will prepare the apple filling using classic ingredients, spread it over the dough, and roll your strudel before it goes into the oven. While the strudel is resting, you will move on to the pretzels. You will shape them by hand, learn the traditional form, and prepare them for baking in the studio oven.
As everything bakes, the studio will fill with conversation and warm aromas. Fresh pretzels will be served with changing side dishes prepared on the same day, and you will have time to sit together, taste, and enjoy the evening. Your apple strudel will follow while it is still warm. Before you leave, you will receive the recipes so you can recreate both Viennese classics at home and share them with family and friends.
