Welcome to the world of the high nobility! In this new and exciting “Vienna’s Aristocracy – Myth and Reality” tour, our guide Timea will show you beyond the lavish lifestyle of the Viennese nobility. The tour will take place in the area of Freyung, known for the beautiful Palais of the aristocracy who wanted to be as close as possible to the Hofburg palace. Together, we will unravel the secrets of the facade of their former residences with exciting details such as statues, crowns and coats of arms.
We will also answer some fascinating questions, such as:
What did they use the many (over 100) rooms of their palais for?
How did they manage to become so rich and powerful?
How old are the most prominent families? What are they doing now?
How exactly did the dynastic marriages thing work?
Stories of the rise, glory and fall of Vienna’s powerful families as well as legends that merge the past and present, all await you on this tour.

This tour is chance to find out what aristocracy was and is all about. To make things real, our guide Timea personally met and interviewed her favourite princes and counts, to be able to provide you some exciting insights – something you won’t be able to get anywhere else!

Interested in a public tour?
Upon request we can publish a public tour to reduce the tour’s price per person. A public tour costs 25 euros per participant and requires a minimum of 6 participants.
Tour conditions:
Minimum number of participants: The tour takes place as a private tour but can also be opened as a public tour upon request. It will take place as a public tour if at least 6 people are registered. In case there aren’t enough participants, we will unfortunately cancel the tour and issue you a full refund.
Cancellation policy: You can cancel your booking up to 48 hours in advance. If you cancel your booking less than 48 hours before the tour we won’t be able to issue a refund. Certain exceptions apply such as emergency situations. Please note, we reserve the right to cancel the tour up to 48 hours in advance too. We will do so if our guide is unavailable due to a sudden change or if we do not have the minimum number of participants required for the tour.
Pictures and videos: Please be aware that we might take photos and videos during the tour. If you don’t want to appear in any Secret Vienna promotional pictures, please let us know by sending us a message.
