Three Viennese restaurants we recommend in Vienna

You have to visit some Viennese restaurants on your trip through the city.

There are some Viennese specialities you definitely shouldn’t miss out on. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to find three Viennese restaurants in the heart of Vienna you have to visit.

Gösser Bierklinik (Steindlgasse 4, 1010 Wien)

Those of you that want to enjoy their typical Austrian lunch or dinner with some Austrian beer, have to visit this restaurant. They offer a big variety of specialities. Let it be Wiener Schnitzel, Wiener Backhuhn or Eiernockerl. You can also find a few vegetarian options on their menu.

They are open Monday to Friday (5 pm to 11 pm), on Saturdays (12 pm to 11pm) and on Sundays (12 pm to 7 pm).

Magazin (Riemergasse 14, 1010 Wien)

Here you will find all kinds of traditional Austrian food. Let it be Schnitzel, Gulasch or Tafelspitz. They only offer limited vegetarian options. And for those of you that want to end their visit with a sweet after taste, you can also order Tichy Eismarillenknödel here – a must try.

They are open Monday to Saturday (11:30 am to 11 pm) and on Sundays (11:30 am to 10 pm), their menu can be found here

Zum Basilisken (Schönlaterngasse 3–5)

I am sure a few of you are familiar with the Basilisk and the legends built around this creature. And even though you probably won’t run into a Basilisk in this restaurant, it’s still worth a visit. Their menu offers a big variety of different kinds of Schnitzel, fish dishes and salads.

They are open Monday to Sunday (12 pm to 11 pm), their menu can be found here. Make sure to also find us on Instagram, where we post content about all things Vienna, upcoming events and adventures you shouldn’t miss out on.
