Most of you may already be familiar with Vienna‘s love for Hotdog stands – called Würstelstand. Here are some of the most famous Wiener Würstelstände you should try on your next trip through Vienna: 

Zum scharfen Réne

You can find this stand at the Schwarzenbergplatz, they are open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 4 am. As the “scharf” (spicy) in the name implies, you can try hot sausages here, but don’t worry, there are also non spicy options on the menu. Click here for more information.

Alt Wiener Würstelstand Zum Volkstheater

This spot is one of the classics. Located in the 7th district, they are open daily from 10 am to 2 am/ 4 am/ 5 am. Please be aware that you can only pay with cash here. Click here for more information.

Wiener Würstelstand 

Those of you that want to find Austrian, regional products (sausages, bread, beer), have to visit this stand. You can find them in the 8th district (Pfeilgasse/ Ecke Strozzigasse), they are open daily from 12 pm to 12 am. Click here for more information.

Eh Wurst

If you are looking for some vegan options, this spot may be perfect for you. Even though they aren’t a classic Würstelstand, rather a “Würstel Bar” (sausage bar), you’ll get to try all kinds of sausage variations here. You can find them in the 7th district (Neustiftgasse 81).
