Tours in the State Opera are special adventures you shouldn’t miss out on!
If you are interested in classical music, you must visit our State Opera. The Opera was built in 1869 by August Sicard von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Nüll, after the Second World War it reopened in 1955 and offers its international audience top classical theatre production all around the year.
But can you visit the Opera without booking a ticket to a show?
There is a lot to explore behind the curtain of the Opera. Let it be the Grand Staircase, ceremonial rooms or an auditorium. The Staatsoper offers guided tours through the building. You will hear many interesting facts about the building’s history, its architecture and how an opera house is run. There is also the option to book a children’s tour. This tour leads both into the large hall and through the state rooms of the State Opera.
