Vienna on cold days

Are you looking for some inspiration for the cold Vienna days?

Winter days can be quite harsh in Vienna, thanks to the cold breeze. Sometimes it can be tricky to figure out what you should do on those days. We put together some things you can do in Vienna on cold days in our beautiful city

1.Visit a historic coffee house

No matter the season, our traditional coffee houses are always worth a visit. But especially on those winter days, you’ll stumble upon some memorable moments in those spots. There are enough famous spots in the first district, like the Cafe Diglas, the tea shop Haas & Haas or the Gerstner.

2. Indulge in some warm food

If you want to try traditional Austrian food, visit famous spots like the Figlmüller. You’ll also stumble upon numerous restaurants that offer international dishes, like Ramen Bars, such as Takumi Ramen or the Kojiro 3. 3. Drink some Punsch at a Christmas market

Till the beginning of January you can visit numerous Christmas markets all over the city. Here you can stroll past the different stalls offering handicrafts, but also Punsch (punch). 4. Visit a museum

Those of you that are into art should definitely think about visiting one of our numerous museums to warm up. You could either visit famous ones like the KHM (fine arts museum), the NHM (museum of natural history), or special ones like the Narrenturm (pathological museum).
