Here are some more Christkindlmärkte in Vienna we recommend!

There are numerous Christkindlmärkte in Vienna you should visit. Some of them can be found in the inner city, nevertheless they all have their own touches to them. Hence why we want to tell you more about our favourite markets in the city.

1. Art Advent | 18th of November – 23rd of December 

This market is located at the Karlsplatz. They have a focus on art and handicrafts, giving this place a special touch. This market is also all about sustainability and regional products, make sure to look at their plan here, so you know who you’ll come across. 2.Weihnachtsmarkt am Stephansplatz | 11th of November – 26th of December 

If you are strolling through the city and are close to the Graben, this market is the place to be. Especially because of its location it is worth the visit. This place has a rather typical market touch to it, and yet you’ll come across traditional handicrafts and arts. Around the cathedral you’ll find stalls that offer food, hot wine and small gifts, make sure to study their plan here.

3. Weihnachtsdorf Altes AKH | 11th of November – 23rd of December 

Even though this market isn’t located in the 1st district, it’s only a good 10 minute walk from the Schottentor and the University. This historic place has a special atmosphere to it, and has been a favorite spot for Viennese since the 1990s. Around 50 stalls focus on the motto “Österreich (er)leben” (experiencing / living Austria). Exhibitors from different Austrian regions find their way to this place to present their food or handicraft.
