Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery
As long time friends and partners of Vienna’s English Theatre, we are already familiar with the high quality shows which they consistently offer. For that reason, we arrived to the premiere of Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery with high expectations. About 2.5 hours later, we left with absolute amazement!
A show you shouldn’t miss!
This show offers a fantastic comedic take on the classic book “The Hound of the Baskervilles” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. If you haven’t read the book, you absolutely should, though don’t worry, it won’t impact your experience of this brilliant show.
The story takes Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson from the comfort of London to the countryside to explore a recent murder and an old curse that threatens the life of young Henry Baskerville. The original story is naturally dramatic and suspenseful. The show manages flawlessly to add a whole new layer of humour, making the story even more enjoyable.
The cast consist of 5 actors who constantly change roles throughout the show. As the story progresses, the setting changes again and again with much grace and smoothness. The actors are incredibly versatile, switching between mysterious and hilarious characters, sometimes in the same scene!

It’s been a while since we enjoyed a show so thoroughly and we urge you to go and watch it! Tickets are available on the theatre’s website HERE. In our opinion the show fits everyone, regardless of age or prior knowledge of the story.
The shows run daily at 19:30, except for Sundays. The last performance will take place on the 22nd of December, so make sure you get your tickets soon before they run out!
