If you are a fan of pubs and bars but also of live music, it sometimes can be tricky to find nice spots where you can listen to music, while still being able to enjoy your surroundings. Hence why we want to share some Vienna bars with live music we recommend. Here you can combine a nice atmosphere with good live music. 

The Golden Harp 

You can find a few of those Irish pubs in Vienna. The one in the 15h district, Johnstraße 69, puts together concerts every now and then, with a strong focus on Rock’n’Roll and Country music. The bars are authentic, the Irish feeling can be felt all throughout the places, from the furniture to the drinks. Click here for more information 

Tunnel

Located in the 8th district, the Tunnel is a very famous spot amongst Viennese from all age groups. On an almost daily basis they put together a big variety of concerts and events. The stage area has a very typical underground touch to it, the bar offers a homey atmosphere. They also offer food, from breakfast to main courses. Lvdwig Bar

This bar, part of the Lvdwig Hotel, is located in the 6th district. This spot is to be found near the Theater an der Wien, the Naschmarkt and the Mariahilfer Straße. Here you can drink cocktails, and on many occasions you can listen to live music here. It’s best to check their Instagram for upcoming concerts. More information about the bar can be found here 

Zwe

If you are into Jazz, this is the place to be. This spot is quite small, it offers a living room-atmosphere, their motto is “life is a party – easy going and keep swinging”. You can find this Jazzclub in the 2nd district, near the Donaukanal and the Schottenring. Their concerts start at 8 pm, you have to pay a 15€ fee (10 if you’re a student). Molly Darcy’s 

Some of you may know a thing or two about the Irish Molly Darcy. This spot was one of the first Guinness-branded pubs in Europe and the most significant in Vienna. They offer live concerts every now and then. Located in the 1st district, close to the Rathaus and the Burgtheater, they also put together pub quizzes. Their menu offers typical Irish pub food and drinks. Make sure to check out their website for upcoming concerts here

Saloon

Those of you that are into Country should visit this place. The restaurant / bar is located in the shopping mall Donauplex, in the 22nd district, and is set on a true Country vibe. Here you can eat American food, while their concerts mainly take place on Fridays and Saturdays but also on some Tuesdays and Thursdays. Make sure to check out their band plan here

Chelsea 

If you’ve ever been to an underground concert in London, you’ll know what to expect here. This spot wants to bring the British concert culture to Vienna. They offer a big variety of beer and also live-broadcast football (soccer) games every now and then. Rather well known people from the scene find their way to this spot once every while to play shows. Click here for their concert program.

Frau Mayer

Located in the 1st district, near Schwedenplatz, this spot puts together concerts and jam sessions. Founded a few years ago, it sees itself as a non-commercial cultural association promoting jam session. You can easily join their jam sessions, or you can sit back, order some food and listen to the artists that make music together. Almost every evening concerts take place here – with a big variety of all genres. Make sure to study their program here

Jazzland 

This spot is also located in the 1st district, so it is close to the Urania. The Jazzland is a very famous Viennese spot that has been flourishing since the 70s. As the name suggests, you’ll stumble upon different Jazz artists and bands that play here. They offer a big program with a nice variety, if you’re a jazz fan you have to visit this place. They also offer food and Viennese bar dishes you can order till the late evening. Their program can be found here
