The largest market in Vienna – Naschmarkt

Visiting the Naschmarkt is always exciting, no matter the season!

Have you ever walked past the Naschmarkt? Vienna’s Naschmarkt is Austria’s most popular market, it has a long tradition – once a “shady” area, now super “trendy”.

But why should you visit this market and is there anything you should know beforehand?

The Naschmarkt is a collection of over 120 stalls, where you can buy pretty much everything – clothes, spices, international food, souvenirs … It’s very authentic and not super expensive, if you are up for trying the offered food, you definitely should visit with an empty stomach.

You can either reach the market by foot (about 20 mins from the inner city), or by public transport, the nearest metro station is the Kettenbrückengasse (U4). The market is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm, be aware that most of the time the market is quite crowded.

If you want to know more about the history of the market, you should think about booking our private Naschmarkt tour. Don’t hesitate and get in touch with us here.
