Visit the Belvedere Palace and its famous art gallery!
If there is one painting Austria is famous for, it’s Gustav Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’. The painting – created around 1907 – shows a couple wrapped up in robes, surrounded by a meadow of flowers. Visit it at the beautiful Belvedere Palace.
Today the painting is part of the permanent collection at the Upper Belvedere (in the 3rd district). You can visit the Upper Belvedere daily from 10 am to 6 pm. If you are a fan of art, and especially of expressionists like Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka or Claude Monet, then you should definitely plan a visit there. The Belvedere is simply stunning, if you have enough time on your hands, you should also visit the Lower Belvedere
