Visit the Laxenburg park for a fantastic experience!
The palace of Laxenburg and its garden have a true Disney feeling to them. The area of the Laxenburg park is worth a visit, no matter the season.
Laxenburg is situated about 15km south of Vienna. The importance of the village has its roots in the 13th century. Later on, the emperor and his court were among the guests and brought aristocracy to Laxenburg. Courtly life reached its peak in the 18th century, due to Maria Theresia. Even empress Sisi spent her honeymoon in Laxenburg after her wedding with emperor Franz Joseph.
But how do get there?
You could either drive there by car, which will take about 30 minutes or you could take the Badner Bahn (from the State Opera on) to the Wiener Neudorf Bahnhof and then use the bus route 215 from Wiener Neudorf Station (Hauptstraße) to Laxenburg Franz-Josephs Platz. Click here for more information.
